The small town of Churchill holds mysteries that attract curious scientists and adventurers from around the world. From the same land that is home to the brief, brilliant summer of beluga whales and wildflowers, to the legendary polar bears of autumn, come the ethereal northern lights.
Aurora Borealis means “dawn of the north,” and due to its position beneath the Van Allen belt, Churchill has one of the heaviest concentrations of Aurora Borealis activity in the world.
Our days are filled with northern adventures such as authentic dog-sledding, igloo building and traditional northern cultural activities.
And our nights with the potential for the best aurora activity on the planet! On this northern adventure, we’ll explore the facts and native fables surrounding this miracle of nature, as well as the intriguing cultures and wildlife they illuminate.

A very important feature of our trips is the limited group size as nature expeditions are best experienced with smaller sized groups of travelers.
Easy / Flexible
The Northern Lights & Wildlife program does not require a high degree of physical fitness. However, we will sometimes be exposed to cold weather for moderate periods of time and may walk in deep snow. Some nights we will stay up late searching for the lights. All of our activities are optional.
