An exclusive helicopter journey above the tundra!
Trip Overview
We have arranged for an exclusive helicopter adventure to the tundra to view the North’s most intriguing wildlife. Track Arctic wolves, migrating caribou, Arctic fox and the mighty polar bear from a unique aerial perspective as we fly over the captivating northern environs. This vast land of endless lakes and colorful tundra also reveals ancient pre-Dorset tent rings and intriguing archaeological sites. Our helicopters enable you to be among the very few privileged visitors to travel to this remote and wild region.
When time allows during your polar bear expedition.
Includes
1 1/2 hour journey (Generally one hour of flying time. The total journey may be shorter if it is too cold to spend 30 minutes walking on the tundra or exploring Fort Prince of Wales on foot.)
Available on all of our polar bear trips! Experience the thrill of gliding across the tundra behind a team of sled dogs!
Churchill is the "Gateway to the Arctic" and, as such, the region maintains many northern traditions, including the use of dog sleds for transportation and recreation. The optional dog sledding excursion includes an exhilarating mile-long ride through the boreal wilderness behind a team of well-trained sled dogs; plenty of time to visit, photograph and learn about the dogs from an expert musher; and a chance to melt away that Arctic chill with hot chocolate and locally-made pan-fried bannock bread. Our guides will arrange this extension for you while you are in Churchill.
Offered on all polar bear trips! Explore historic Winnipeg and its world-class museum!
For those travelers who would like to see as much as possible during their trip to this area of the world, we have arranged a guided Extra Day in Winnipeg program. It takes place prior to each Polar Bear tour and includes hotel accommodations, breakfast and lunch, a tour of the city highlighting historical and cultural points of interest, and a guided visit to the acclaimed Manitoba Museum, winner of numerous awards for excellence in tourism and service.
