Churchill is known as the “Polar Bear capital of the world” as the giants meander along the nearby shores of the Hudson Bay waiting for it to freeze for their migration north.

Imagine being with your family and exploring the tundra in a one-of-a-kind Tundra Buggy. Wait until you see your children’s/grandchildren’s eyes as they delight when they see their first Polar Bear. And the excitement as it approaches closer, and closer, and closer….

In addition to the “Kings of the Arctic,” you may also chance upon Arctic fox, Arctic hare and other wildlife.

Not only will you explore the tundra landscape, but your young ones will be kept happily busy with the other family-oriented fun activities.  These include dog sledding, an evening yurt adventure in the boreal forest and an opportunity to meet members of the local community and learn about their traditions and way of life – a valuable opportunity for cultural understanding.

This program is designed to cater to the dreams and the needs of families – we even include healthy snacks and built-in bathroom breaks!

A Family Learning Adventure Program in Churchill is an excellent opportunity for families who value travel, adventure, and cultural exchange – to create memories TOGETHER that will last a lifetime!

Accommodations for our Conservation Polar Bear Adventures

Churchill Hotels

Churchill is a small, northern community with a lot of character and warm hospitality. You won’t find big-chain hotels here. However, you will find our hotels in town to be clean and comfortable with all of the amenities. (You will find them comparable to a good motel in other locations across North America.)

A hotel-based tour is for those who would prefer a little more comfort, enjoy spending a little more time on your own and appreciate privacy in the evenings. Staying in town will allow you to walk to and from the different places of interest, shops and restaurants.  Perhaps even meet some of the locals!

Our hotels include the Bear Country Inn, Polar Inn, Aurora Inn, Seaport Hotel and the Tundra Inn.

During the day, you will be transferred from town to the Tundra Buggy Launch where you will board a Buggy and begin your tundra adventure.  The Tundra Buggy meanders over a system of trails, stopping at leisure to enjoy the scenery, search for wildlife and take photos. When daylight fades, we’ll head back to the Launch and our hotels.

Winnipeg Hotel

Our base hotel in Winnipeg is the Sheraton Four Points. It is located directly at the airport, so the convenience cannot be beat!
